I am really happy with the way I have trained over the last 2 months. Besides running a half marathon in Hyderabad in late-August, I managed to run over 20 kilometres twice this month. My timings haven't improved, but I feel stronger and fitter and definitely look a lot better.
I still haven't managed that run over 30 km, that I attempted yesterday and the Saturday before, but honestly, these are the best preparations I have had for a full marathon. It is going to take a lot of grit, determination and effort for me to finish in KL on October 12, but I still feel confident and happy. There's really no harm in trying and the experience will make me all the better.
On the bright side, I need to be proud of my fitness when I think running 10 km is easy and 5 km is child's play. These are the fringe benefits of preparing for a marathon
